Our Impact

"I was homeless and had nowhere to go ... I called Storm Center of Hope & Service and they game me a place to stay. Storm has been a great support and helped me in going through a rough patch. I was in the foster system from the age of 4 to 18. Since I turned 18 things have been a little rough. I don't let my past define my future. I have a bright future ahead of me and I'm working on my life back. Thanks to Storm I am able to do so."

Solutions Through Innovation

How do we create a supportive system that empowers youth aging out of foster care, keeps them engaged, connects them to critical resources, and helps them overcome the risks of homelessness, trafficking, and incarceration, so they can achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency?

We take a multi-layered approach because sustainable change happens when youth feel safe, supported, and empowered to overcome life’s challenges. Through online resources, in person support, and community engagement we provide:

Peer to Peer Connection

STORM CONNECT is our exclusive membership community, social network, learning platform, and resource hub.

Emergency Shelter & Transitional Housing

Safe and stable housing is essential. We provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, and long-term planning, ensuring youth have a secure place to call home.

Essential Skills Training & Mentorship

Every young person deserves a strong support system. We foster long-term mentorship, cultural connections, and family reunification efforts to build resilience and a sense of belonging.

Future Planning Assistance

The transition into adulthood is a critical phase. We equip youth with personalized strategies, life skills, and long-term planning support to help them navigate independence with confidence.

Mental Health & Community Support

Well-being is the foundation of success. Our approach prioritizes Emotional Resilience and Emotional Intelligence, equipping Pathfinders with the skills to manage challenges, build self-awareness, and develop positive coping strategies.

Advocacy

We speak for those who feel powerless to speak for themselves. The more the community cares, the more we work together to solve these problems, the better the outcomes for these kids.

“Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear your path.”
— Paulo Coelho

Breaking The Cycle, Building a Better One

A cycle far too frequent among foster kids in transition is a struggle to find or keep steady work leads to a struggle to maintain housing security, which then leads to feelings of hopelessness and substance abuse, which then make finding and keeping steady work a challenge. We look to end that cycle and replace it with our own:
